How to Draw Naked Girls!

Here's something fun, and a little different for Australian People magazine: "How to Draw Naked Girls"*. For this post I'll start at the thumbnail rough and we'll work our way towards to published art.
So I got busy and came up with a rough layout - really more of a guide to show the editor what I had in mind. For the final piece, the mag's designer would be laying it all out. I just needed to come up with all the illustrated elements and do some of the writing.
I thought it would be fun to have a little weird, goofy artist character who would be the narrator. And also, a 'Boobs!' breakout box to add a little more humour to the piece. The mag chose the model and I chose the most pinupy pose that would work in the space (a standing one would take up too much room). I made a small adjustment to her pose, so that it looked a little more dynamic. Sometimes illustrations can look bland if copied directly from photographs. Well, that's my feeling, anyway.
I also researched a few old "how to draw" tutorials from the 50's to see how many steps I'd need. Seemed like three or four was standard, so I stuck with that.
The next step was to actually draw a pinup, saving some of the steps along the way and making some notes, and of course to ink and colour all the other elements, too. Then I sent it off, waited a few weeks, and opened the mag to find the finished feature. Voila! Please click to see it bigger...
Thanks for looking!

Ps. Here's a closeup of the Boobs! breakout, in case it's a little hard to read...
* Changed to "Chicks", as that is more ocker, and perhaps bonzer, too.
