Spill!

Hot off the press!  Actually, not even at press yet!  We've just had a spill and our Prime Minister is now an ex-PM.

Quick turnaround on this one - got the call only this evening for a tight print deadline... just made it!

And here's a quick process for you, below.  At the time we weren't sure exactly who would come out on top so we came up with a concept that would work with either.  I drew two quick thumbnails with both Russ and Gillard sinking in mud, but by the time I started painting I was pretty sure that Gillard would get it.  Worst come to worst, I'd just plonk Rudds head and glasses over the top.

I needed to get this done fast, so I skipped my inking step and just started to (digitally) paint directly over my thumbnail sketch.   Please click for a closer look.
